We had a fabulous time! What a perfect house for families with children. Our 4 boys ages 2-10 had the best time. The movie selection was great, the accommodations were perfect, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The washer and dryer were an added plus. Thank you so much! The shell offerings on the beach kept the kids busy for hours! We ate at "The Spot" in Port O'Connor and had the most delicious grilled shrimp I've ever had-it's a fun place and the wait time for our food was worth it.. It was a relaxing time. We found everything we needed and enjoyed ourselves at the beach. The cottage was cute and rustic. We all thought it was adorable. My seven-year old brother exclaimed that the backyard was a beautiful as our mother. She decided to not look at the back yard as a result. We didn't do any crabbing or fishing, but we had a great time, anyway. The info by the book was great and learning about this area from the pictures you had made the trip even better. I am a history buff so I had a great time looking and seeing how this area was. Thank you for "inviting" us into your come. The F D & G Families. Had a BLAST! Nice accommodations! All 10 of us had enough room to stay here. We went to the crabbing beach here, no sand but 11 crabs for the pot. We went swimming at the Port Lavaca YMCA pool one afternoon as well as small shops and a good restaurant there. Thanks. K, J, P, R, S, J, J ,J, J & J San Antonio & Houston Joyce, We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is great. My grandchildren and children (adults) had a blast. We didn't catch as many fish this time; oh, well, but the smiles on the faces of my grandchildren were priceless. My grandson even caught a stingray. Can't wait to return! Thanks. First time in Magnolia Beach, TX. Beautiful town, great people we met. Your cottage is great, very cozy. Our whole family felt right at home. We loved the crabbing and ate them-22 of them. Fishing was great, too. We visited the surrounding areas and enjoyed them, too. My little nieces enjoyed the beach, just about every day. Hi! We had the best time here: we relaxed and just chilled out. We will be back. We tried Carmines Cajun Kitchen in Port O'Connor and it was Great! D&D H, San Antonio Had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay!! Looking forward to a return visit. Thanks for everything! R. Family Thank you so much! The family really enjoyed the stay G. Family A great time was had by all. House was very comfortable and felt like home. Going to start family tradition. C K & Family, Houston TX Enjoyed the clean and comfortable accommodations! Nice and friendly neighbors, too. One guy a couple of streets over even gave us firewood when we couldn't find any in the area stores (he heard us talking). The black drum (35-49 lbs) were caught 12:00 am-3 am-best time to catch them at the Indianola Fishing Marina. At Goose Island State Park catch the Park Ranger Talk (30 min) about the "Big Tree"-it's pretty good. The Mexican food was great at LaParilla Restaurant. We enjoyed the stay here. Thanks. The place made us feel like home instead of staying at a motel. Really loved the backyard. The family enjoyed the place and we will be back. R Family My friends and I had a great time. The house felt very homey, and the place was very clean when we arrived. MS & Friends Winchester & LaGrange TX Magnolia Beach is a wonderful place to enjoy the beach and hide from the crowds that are usually there. Nice, quiet, peaceful, but lots of fun. MV Store has great burgers as does the Indianola Marina. Everyone was helpful and full of information. The crabbin' bridge is well worth a visit-chicken necks, string and a net & a bucket are all you need for fun and dinner. Remember, you need a fishing license while you're there, but can get them at the Marina. And you can keep the female crabs as long as they don't have eggs on them. If you want to go fishing-call Capt. Rick Kelly-he's a great guy, very safe and well worth the time and money. Got 25 gafftops and that was with tons of rain and 2 trips into the Marina to wait out storms. We truly enjoyed our stay and we WILL BE BACK. H Family, New Mexico We really enjoyed our stay. "What an enjoyable and practical "home away from home". I mostly enjoyed morning coffee on the "Eagle's Nest" deck. The birds seemed especially cheerful up there! We had a great time". T & R S. Pasadena, Tx. (Eagle's Nest) "What a great place! We had a GREAT time. It was hard to leave. The "extras" you have put into the house made our stay very pleasant. The chilled mugs in the freezer were a welcome sight at the end of a long day of travel. The tips in the 3 ring notebook were very helpful. The Barkett's restaurant in Seadrift was wonderful. We did go to Johnstone's Gallery (Roseate Spoonbill Gallery) in Pt. Lavaca. He was so pleasant and helpful in directing us to some great birding experiences. You are right, the folks at Indianola Marina are very neighborly. In fact, everyone we met was friendly and helpful. Dean Johnstone put us in contact with Laura, an artist, who lives 2 blocks from the house. She did a beautiful pastel of a spoonbill for us. We had a wonderful time and plan to return to the area . The table is fantastic"! T&C Stillwater, OK. (Eagle's Nest) "Randy - nice place, loved the REAL décor and found the living area very liveable. Thanxs for the safety factors on deck and such! C & LS July 2 Thank you so much for every little detail. We followed your advice about local haunts & food, and we had the best time. The kids saw alligators and sharks (at the State Aquarium) and had the comforts of home at the end of it all. We'll be back! K and Family, Austin, TX 7/5 Well, what can we say other than we had a great time! We found your place to be inviting and comfortable and didn't need anything we didn't have! We are taking some of the mosquitoes home with us. LOL. We're thinking they may make it into the Book of World Records! Seriously, thanks for spraying--they really weren't bad at all. Fireworks were great--kids loved watching them (from Eagle's Nest) so thanks for letting us stay the extra night. We will be back! Anytime you can take six people from their normality and displace them to a totally different environment and everyone still feels right at home. That is the greatest feeling of relief I could get since my families comfort is very important to me as you well know. For me to come back to the nest and see my wife and children comfortable and relaxed has made my stay for work at Seadrift the most stress-free I have ever had the pleasure of ending. The Eagle's Nest has afforded us every amenity we could possibly hope for and location has been ideal for both my work and my families pleasure. We really appreciate what you were able to do for us with the weekend issue at Gardenia also. The inconvenience we caused you, I hope wasn't too much trouble. Thanks for both of you being so understanding to our circumstances. Before now, I have never enjoyed working away from home so much! Thanks for lending us your next away from home.
